Forthcoming Events at The idle Hour

JAMIE 'AFRO' ON X FACTOR!

The Idle Hours very talented friend Jamie 'Afro' who has performed here countless times, has, very wrongly, been voted off the X Factor having made the final 6 out of 250,000! Obviously we wish him all the luck in the world. He has promised to play one more gig here although who knows when. Now he is so famous he's kinda busy!! I will try and let people know...

NEW IDLE HOUR IN BARONS COURT!

I have just bought another pub in Greyhound Road, just behind the Queens Club. It will be very similar in operation to Barnes although it is considerably larger. There is a separate floor for functions too - seated around 60 or 100 for drinks. If you find yourself in that area pop in and say hello. 020 7386 9007

ALASKAN KING CRAB

This is one of those things to eat before you die! The legs and claws of the King crab are so good they make lobster taste like cardboard in comparison! You may have seen those lunatics risking their lives in order to catch them on the documentary series 'Deadliest Catch'. There is a good reason for it! Surprisingly, I know of no other restaurant in the UK that serves them (they are common in the States). Here, we serve them as a 2lb portion, enough for 4 as a starter or 2 as a main. Sadly this seasons price has nearly doubled so I am offering them at virtually cost price as a 'loss leader' £49.95.

HALF PRICE BURGER NIGHTS EVERY MONDAY!

It doesn't sound like much does it? The poor humble burger... However, our burgers are something else! National award winning organic steak mince burgers with red onion marmalade, farmhouse cheddar and goose fat fried chips. They really are something special. And every Monday they are HALF PRICE! Book if you can as this is a busy night.

GUEST CHEF NIGHTS

Most people have a signature dish or 2 that you do for dinner parties. For those who want the challenge of cooking in a more professional environment, submit your menu of 1 starter, 1 main and 1 dessert and go head to head with our own menu. My chef will be on hand to help and guide you through the evening. You will be judged on quality, execution and sales of your menu (5% of your sales will be donated to The Royal Marsden Cancer Trust). There will be an annual winner of a gourmet related prize. The evenings are held on a Wednesday.
