SUNDAY ROASTS
Since I opened 8 years ago, Sundays have become something of an institution here. On offer is a whole organic chicken or organic leg of lamb served in a roasting tray with goose fat roasted potatoes, broccoli, carrots and gravy so good it takes a week to make! They both come to your table complete for you to carve and serve yourselves the bits you like. Each is a portion for 2 people. Try to book in advance as I sell out quickly, especially in winter..
ALASKAN KING CRAB
If you have seen the docu-drama DEADLIEST CATCH on channel 4 you will know about these huge (6 ft!) crabs and the fishermen who risk their lives catching them. Until you have tried them you might not know why. My own opinion is that they make lobster taste like an old cardboard box in comparison! One of a miniscule handful of restaurants that has them in the UK, I serve them just as they should be. Plain steamed with goose fat chips on the side. A portion is 2lbs, enough for 4 people as a starter or 2 as a main. This is a taste experience not to be missed! Try them at least once, you will thank me! £45 for 2lbs.
